ORONO - Maine football will choose captains via team vote by the week this season, a new method intended to inspire leadership from more players.
The captains chosen to open the season Thursday against Albany are:

The new method will be a way to inspire leaders said Maine Coach Jack Cosgrove: "It makes more sense and gets everyone involved in leadership. It puts it on our guys to recognize each other."
