Today's buzz: The Maine men pulled off an upset on Wednesday night at the Mullins Center against UMass.

Final: Maine 68, UMass 56

Guard Gerald McLeMore scored a team-high 12 points.

Malachi Peay was tabbed America East Player of the Game with a 10 point, five assist, four rebound, four steal performance.

The win restores faith in the Black Bears season after a four-game losing streak had dropped them to 2-5. Maine is now 3-5 with four games left until conference play opens on Jan. 2.

Up next: A noon game against Norfolk St. in the old Pit on Sunday.
