Gov. Paul LePage was in New York City today to attend a tax forum and Fox News grabbed him for a quick interview during the break.
LePage said although he and the Legislature lowered Maine's income taxes from 8.5 percent to 7.95 percent last year, he wants to eventually get to 4 percent. He said Democrats in the Legislature have been "sitting on their hand for two years" while Republicans have wanted to do more.
He also said he was elected governor because Mainers "are fed up with big government."
