Despite the clear sky and all that sunshine, some mud still found its way to Monument Square today. Organizers of USM's Into The Mud Challenge hit the square at noon to promote the upcoming "muddy madness," which takes place May 5 at Gorham Middle School. And what better way to say, "Come get muddy" than by showing up in mud-covered clothes.
This will be the second year for the race, which features a 2.5-mile course that's filled with mud-centric obstacles. It's also very family friendly. If you want to get a feel for what to expect, you can check out my writeup from last year: Method behind the mudness: USM's Into the Mud Challenge For more information or to register ($25 for early registrants, $30 after April 28), go to: www.intothemudchallenge.com All proceeds from the Into the Mud Challenge will support the USM Sport Management Scholarship Fund.
