Portland Velocipede may have closed its doors, but the turn-back-the-decade Tweed Ride the owners launched three years ago is still on several local bike-lovers' scehdules.
Version three of the Tweed Ride takes place Saturday, Nov. 17 - so here's hoping this early-season snow doesn't hang around for long.

Courtesy photo: Josh and Gillian Crider created the ride - and don't they look snappy in their tweeds?
According to the ride's Facebook page participants will "don our tweeds, mount our steeds, and parade majestically about our fair city." Maybe it goes without saying, but tweeds go much better with a retro ride than a new Specialized racing bike.
The Tweed Ride starts at 1:30 p.m. at Monument Square and ends at Deering Oaks Park for a group photo.
Following the picture for posterity there's every reason to believe the next stop will be a local watering hole will the thirst caused by riding in such snappy duds will be quenched.
