If you're smart, you wear a helmet whenever you ride. It's a safety precaution you can't do without.

These days smart riders also take along a smartphone whenever they ride, which is just one more way to be safe. Have a flat with no spare tube? Call a friend for a lift. Get lost on the country backroads? Open your browser for a quick search for directions.

The question is, where do you carry that phone? A jersey pocket isn't the best idea when you're sweating and your shirt gets damp. A seat bag works, but it doesn't allow for super quick access.

Satechi's new Bikemate Slim Case 3 does. In fact, it gives riders constant access with a mount right on your handlebar stem.

The mount's rubber grip won't damage the bike frame and clicks easily so it can be removed when you're done riding. The case keeps your phone clean but fully accessible and seals with velcro on top and bottom. You can even still access your headphone jack if you're one of those riders who chooses to cycle to music.

The going price for the Bikeman Slim Case 3 is $24.99 but the price is worth it if you want to stay plugged in while you pedal.
