Primary Day is now just 10 weeks away. Here's what's happening this week on the 1st District campaign trail:

Monday, March 31

5:30-7:30 p.m., Democrat Michael Brennan meets with supporters and celebrates the beginning of spring, Slainte, 24 Preble St., Portland.

Tuesday, April 1

11 a.m., Democrat Chellie Pingree tours the offices of Great Works Internet, 8 Pomerleau St., Biddeford.

5:30 p.m., Democrat Ethan Strimling attends a campaign party at A1 to Go, 347 Water St., Gardiner.

Wednesday, April 2

2 p.m., Republican Dean Scontras attends TeenPact, a Christian leadership program for teenagers and children, state Capitol building, Augusta.

Thursday, April 3

9 a.m., Democrat Adam Cote attends Gov. John Baldacci's Energy Efficiency Summit, Augusta Civic Center.

7 p.m., Democrat Ethan Strimling attends a campaign house party at the home of Lois Lamdin, 9 Pinefields Ln., Brunswick.

Friday, April 4

5-8 p.m., Democrat Chellie Pingree holds an open house at her campaign headquarters, 567 Congress St., Portland.

Saturday, April 5

4 p.m., Democrat Ethan Strimling attends a campaign house party at the home of Amod Damle and Traci Kruse, 153 Auburn St., Portland.

Sunday, April 6

Noon, Democrat Ethan Strimling attends a campaign party at Limerick Town Hall, 55 Washington St., Limerick.

1-4 p.m., Democrat Mark Lawrence attends Democracy & Dessert, sponsored by the Berwick Democrats, at the Noble 5th & 6th Grade School, Route 9, Berwick.

Kelley Bouchard has been a staff writer at the Portland Press Herald since 1998, covering a variety of municipal beats and statewide issues. A Lewiston native and University of Maine graduate, she previously worked in Massachusetts.

Justin Ellis has been a reporter with the Portland Press Herald since 2003. He has covered politics on every level and also writes a weekly column on culture and young people as well as the NXT blog. He is a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism.

Matt Wickenheiser has been at the Press Herald for six years. Wickenheiser is a native of Madawaska and a 1994 graduate of the University of Maine. He thinks his first politcal memory is of waving to First Lady Rosalyn Carter.
