Independence Day always marks the true beginning of summer for me, in addition, of course, to commemorating the birthday of our great nation. This year is no different. After many days of much rain here in Portland, we finally have some beautiful summer weather. More important, the stars and stripes are everywhere in their full glory. Of course, the tweets were also flying on the fourth day of July, as well as a few on the third. I had a great time scouring Twitter for my favorites.
As an obsessive Twitter user (I'll admit to it being my favorite social media channel), every week I notice at least a handful of tweets that grab my attention for a variety of reasons. They might be funny or insightful or, on occasion, even patriotic (in their own hilarious way). What follows are some of my favorites that marked the occasion of this year's Independence Day holiday.
This effort would be infinitely more interesting if I heard from you about what tweets you like and why. Send them to me on Twitter at @bobbbyg and I'll consider them for the next Tweets of the Week.
Here we go again ... tweet, tweet.
Today's themes are: Bean boots, bald eagles and bikinis.
