This noon game looked dull with Altoona taking a quick 6-0 lead off Kyle Weiland after two innings.
But the Sea Dogs now lead 9-6 after seven, thanks to five home runs, two by Anthony Rizzo, including a grand slam.
Fourth inning: Nate Spears hit a two-run homer. In the sixth: Rizzo hit a solo shot to right field.
Ryan Lavarnway began the seventh with a solo shot over the Maine Monster left field wall.
After the Sea Dogs loaded the bases with no outs, an infield pop-up and strikeout made it two outs. Rizzo stepped up and crushed a fastball over the message board in left center. Luis Exposito followed with a homer over the Monster.
Rizzo now has 18 home runs for Portland (in 90 games).
I'll check back after the game.Tweet
