Greetings from Hadlock, where they are hoping the rain stays away.
Luis Exposito is catching for the Sea Dogs today. He is having a solid year with a .270 average, 10 home runs and 85 RBI. But he is not the only catching prospect with Portland. Ryan Lavarnway has been turning heads with his plate approach and his improving defense. See the story in today's Maine Sunday Telegram.
Here are the Sox and Dogs lineups for today.
BOSTON: Scutaro SS; Drew RF; Martinez C; Ortiz DH; Beltre 3B; Lowell 1B; Lowrie 2B; Hall LF; Kalish CF; (Buchholz P)
PORTLAND: Iglesias SS; Chang 3B; Rizzo 1B; Exposito C; Lavarnway DH; Padron LF; Khoury 2B; Chiang RF; Sheely CF; (Wilson P)
Outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin is getting a second day off because of hip soreness. Infielder Nate Spears is getting a rare day off. He's played in 120 of Portland's 125 games.
