The buzz around Hadlock Field today is the news that another former Sea Dogs player, Lars Anderson, is being called up to the Red Sox. Anderson, who batted .304 over the past two months with Pawtucket, could be in the lineup tonight, especially with Mike Lowell ailing with a fractured rib.
Anderson is the fifth player to start the 2010 season in Portland and end it in Boston, following Felix Doubront, Ryan Kalish, Yamaico Navarro and Robert Coello.
Here in Portland, the Sea Dogs lead 7-4 after four innings. Both Nate Spears and Anthony Rizzo have hit their 20th home run of the season. Counting Rizzo's time in Salem, he has 25 home runs this year and 100 RBI.

He wisely moved to Maine in 1994 and now writes about the Portland Sea Dogs and Boston Red Sox — when he's not coaching Little League baseball. He is married to Nancy, and the couple has completed their lineup card with the birth of their ninth child, who is now 4 1/2 years old.
