In the Arizona Fall League, Casey Kelly is showing some of the same trends that he did in Portland. He will get hit one inning, and then show his potential the next.
Kelly allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits over 5 innings. He struck out three, walked one and hit a batter. After a scoreless first, Kelly allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in the second, and 2 runs on an error and home run in the third. He retired 8 of the last 9 batters he faced.
In the game, Juan Carlos Linares continued to hit, going 2-for-5 to up his average to .394 ... Ryan Lavarnway (.286) was 1-for-4. Lavarnway has 10 walks overall and an on-base percentage of .415.
In the Dominican Winter League, Yamaico Navarro is off to a good start, batting .375 (9-for-24) with 6 RBI in seven games ... Josh Reddick is also in the Dominican, batting .292 (7-for-24). The free-swinging Reddick has 5 walks.
