Ryan Kalish and Mark Rogers will be the featured guest at the Portland Sea Dogs annual Hot Stove Banquet, Jan. 21, at the Sable Oaks Marriott.
Tickets for the event will go on sale Saturday, when the 2011 individual game tickets also go on sale, starting at 9 a.m. at Hadlock Field.
Kalish began the year in the Sea Dogs outfield and finished it with an impressive performance in Boston. There is speculation that Kalish could begin next season in the majors.
Rogers, the pride of Orrs Island and Mount Ararat High, made his major league debut this season with the Milwaukee Brewers.
The banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50, with proceeds benefiting the Strikeout Cancer in Kids charity. Hannaford has signed on as the chief sponsor.
The Sea Dogs will be releasing more information about the banquet on its website, www.seadogs.com
In other news, Adrian Beltre officially declined his player option with the Red Sox next year (no surprise there). And today is the deadline for the Red Sox to pick up their $12.5-million option on David Ortiz.
