The Boston Red Sox have not announced which of its minor league teams will play in the annual Futures at Fenway doubleheader, but it appears it will be the two high level teams, Pawtucket and Portland.
According to both teams' websites, both Pawtucket and Portland have home games on Saturday, Aug. 20, but tickets are not yet available for those games. (And thank you to those who emailed me to point this out).
Also, the Pawtucket calendar has its home games shaded in red, but the Aug. 20 game is shaded in green.
On Aug, 20, Pawtucket is scheduled to play Syracuse and the Sea Dogs will play the Binghamton Mets.
The Futures doubleheader is always a popular event with fans getting to experience the "Fenway experience" without paying major league prices.
Stay tuned for ticket information.
And for family news, congratulations goes out to Justin Masterson and his wife Meryl on the birth of their first child, a daughter, Eden Joy, born early Tuesday morning. The website SoxSpaceNews.com has a picture of the family.
