If you think of the moves Theo Epstein made, from July of 2010 through the off-season, it looks like one big trade.
Epstein gave up: Adrian Beltre, Victor Martinez, Manny Delcarmen, Ramon Ramirez, a utility player, three top prospects, one high draft pick and three other minor leaguers.
Epstein got: Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Bobby Jenks, Danny Wheeler, Alfredo Aceves, at least one minor leaguer and FOUR high draft picks.
Boston got younger, better, and more expensive.
