Former Sea Dogs outfielder Bubba Bell was traded to Cleveland, while shortstop Jose Iglesias will not be returning to Portland because of a promotion to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Those were some of the decisions made as the minor league rosters were announced Thursday morning here at the Red Sox player development complex in Fort Myers.
Bell was sent to the Indians for future considerations. Other players are now looking got an interested team. Among those cut were pitcher Adam Mills, first baseman/outfielder Aaron Bates, infielder Ryan Khoury and outfielder Jason Place.
Catcher Mark Wagner, who was designated for assignment on Tuesday, is still awaiting his fate.
Other notes of interest is that veteran lefty Tommy Hottovy is coming back to Portland. Hottovy, who has switched to a full-time side-armed delivery, needs reps and he will more likely get those with the Sea Dogs than the loaded Pawtucket bullpen.
