The Portland Sea Dogs scored 9 runs on 12 hits in a 9-4 win over Binghamton. The hot-hitting Dogs may have recorded more, but the game was called after 6 1/2 innings because of fog. Plenty of offensive standouts. See The Story.
Pawtucket outfielder Josh Reddick (.276) hit his 6th home run of the season.
But the big hits came off the Salem bats - 17 hits in a 16-6 win. We'll limit out list of names to six:
1B/DH Reynaldo Rodriguez (.403), 2-4 with his 4th HR.
C Dan Butler (.362) 3-5.
3B Kolbrin Vitek (.353) 2-5.
OF Pete Hissey (.328) 2-4.
OF Shannon Wilkerson (.333) 2-3 with two HR. Of his 9 hits, 3 are HR.
OF Jeremy Hazelbaker (.321) 2-5, 4th HR
Salem pitcher Drake Britton continues to struggle (11.08 ERA) He went 3 1/3 IP (2 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 2 K).
Dogs play at noon today. I'll check back before the game.
