Sea Dogs 21-year-old starter Stolmy Pimentel still has a 6.75 ERA, but is showing signs of getting in sync in Double-A. He pitched 5 innings Friday (4 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 4 K).
Pimentel took the loss because Portland backed him up with only three hits (one a double by Alex Hassan, who is now batting .435).
Seth Garrison (1.26) relieved for Portland and pitched three innings (1 H, 1 BB, 2 K).
Outfielder Bryce Brentz (.360) continues to hit for Greenville (2-4, 3B and his fifth HR). Brentz was a supplemental-round draft pick last year from Middle Tennessee State.
Former Sea Dogs starter Casey Kelly picked up his second win in the Double-A Texas League. He gave up 9 hits over 5 innings (1 R, 2 BB, 4 K). His ERA is down to 4.10.
