When I scheduled a Fenway trip for today, I did not know I was in for such a pitching match-up: Felix Hernandez vs. Tim Wakefield.
It should be ... interesting.
I will be checking back later today from Fenway (tweets and blogs).
As for the minors, Kyle Weiland had a decent outing for Pawtucket (5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 3 K). ERA now 3.42.
In Portland, Tim Federowicz (.333) was 3-for-5 with 2 doubles ... Will Middlebrooks (.347) had two hits ... Alex Hassan (.411) had a rare hitless night (0-4).
Reliever Tommy Hottovy went 2 1/3 (1 H, 1 BB). ERA now 0.69.
Ryan Pressly, an 11th round draft pick out of high school in 2007, allowed one hits over 6 innings for Salem (0 BB, 5 K). He is 3-0 with a 2.33 ERA.
Salem hitters: Reynaldo Rodriguez (.384) 1-2, 2 BB; Dan Butler (.351) 5th HR; Kolbrin Vitek (.341) 2-4; Jeremy Hazelbaker (.294) 5th HR.
In Greenville, Bryce Brentz (.366) went 2-for-4 ... but starter Anthony Ranaudo (2.95) had his first really tough outing (1 2/3, 6 H, 6 R, 2 BB, 1 K).
