Lefty Andrew Miller is considered a considerable talent, if he improves his command. Miller (2.35 ERA) had another one-hit start for Pawtucket (5 IP, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K). In 30 2/3 innings, Miller has 25 strikeouts and 24 walks.
Pawtucket lost 4-2 in 15 innings. Blake Maxwell (3.60) got the lost, allowing a 2-run homer in the 15th ... Daniel Nava (.189) is showing signs of coming out of his slump, going 3-for-7.
Portland prospects Alex Hassan (.369) and Will Middlebrooks (.336) are still hitting. Hassan went 3-for-3 Thursday with two doubles. Middlebrooks was 3-for-4 with 5 RBI and his fifth home run ... Oscar Tejeda (.269) went 2-for-4.
Another good start for Salem lefty Chris Hernandez (1.72): 5 2/3, 5 H, 0 ER, BB, 4 K.
And Greenville's B&B (Bryce Brentz and Brandon Jacobs) have not slowed down. Brentz (.393) was 4-for-4), while Jacobs (.370) went 3-for-6.
Tonight in the Bronx: Buchholz vs. Colon. Yankees (20-15) are 1 game behind Tampa Bay; Boston (17-20) is 5 back.
