After Matt Albers' performance Saturday, it is obvious that Terry Francona needs to re-think his bullpen "rotation."

Albers gave up 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning. That's 10 runs (and 10 hits) in his last 5 outings (10 innings).

Dan Wheeler, by the way, has not allowed an earned run since July 15.

The Sox lost, but so did the Yankees, thanks to another A.J. Burnett meltdown. See the Daily News story.

Jon Lester gets the ball today for Boston. The standings:

AL East
New York 76-48
Boston 76-49 (.5 back)
Tampa Bay 68-56 (8)

Wild Card
Boston 76-49
Tampa Bay 68-56 (7.5 back)
Angels 68-59 (9 back)

In the minors, both the PawSox and Sea Dogs lost their game at Fenway Park. Daniel Nava hit his 9th home run for Pawtucket. Alex Hassan, the hometown boy from Milton, swatted his 11th home for the Sea Dogs.

See the game story in today's Press Herald. And while you are enjoying your Sunday, read, check out today's Baseball Column on Mark Wagner.

Salem was swept in a doubleheader. Bryce Brentz hit another home run - his 11th for Salem and 29th overall this year (counting his 18 in Greenville).
