Outfielder Juan Carlos Linares, who came out of Sunday's game after a slide into second base, is not in the lineup today. But manager Kevin Boles said Linares is available to play if needed (he is the only outfielder on the bench).
Linares was named the Eastern League Player of the Week for his .415 average and three home runs from April 5 to the 15th.
The Sea Dogs bench got a little shorter with the promotion of Jon Hee to Triple-A Pawtucket. The move is considered temporary as Hee is filling the void created when Nate Spears was sent to Boston.
Right-handed pitcher Chris Balcom-Miller said he might miss his next start, depending on the middle finger of his right hand. The nail came off his finger during the first inning of Sunday's game. He left the game in the second inning.
Here is the Sea Dogs lineup for today's 6 p.m. game against New Britain:
Derrik Gibson, SS
Kolbrin Vitek, 3B
Oscar Tejeda, LF
Bryce Brentz, RF
Reynaldo Rodriguez, 1B
Dan Butler, C
Ronald Bermudez, CF
Jeremy Hazelbaker, DH
Heiker Meneses, 2B
(Chris Martin, P)
