Junichi Tazawa used to be the mop-up guy. On Tuesday night, he entered the Red Sox game in the seventh inning with two runners on, one out, and Boston leading 4-3.
Tazawa got out of the jam and the Red Sox held on to win 4-3. Tazawa's ERA is now 1.64.
Tonight in Pawtucket, the Red Sox Triple-A club and the Yankees' Triple-As face off in the first round of the International League playoffs. Nice to see former Sea Dogs manager Arnie Beyeler still enjoying success.
Orioles won and Yankees lost. The AL East is all tied up. Meanwhile, the Padres won, to remain "tied" with Boston for ninth in the "race" for a good drafting position next year.
