Former Sea Dogs continue to lead the Pawtucket Red Sox in the International League championship series. Dan Butler homered and scored both runs as the PawSox beat Charlotte 2-0, to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.
Che Hsuan Lin doubled in Butler for the other RBI.
Zach Stewart (acquired in the Kevin Youkilis trade) pitched a 4-hitter over 6 innings (1 BB, 4 K) ... Alex Wilson was one of thee relievers in to keep the shutout.
In the other minor league news, Akron beat Trenton 7-5 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five Eastern League championship series.
Boston lost to the Yankees 5-4. Alfredo Aceves gave up the final two runs to New York, and then showed up Bobby Valentine by walking around the mound to avoid the manager. See Alex Speier's story.
