A couple of former Sea Dogs put in solid performances in the majors on Sunday.
Justin Masterson (10-6, 3.48 ERA) pitched a complete-game shutout (6 H, 1 BB, 8 K) in the Indians' win over the White Sox (Cleveland is tied with the Tigers in the AL Central).
Stephen Fife replaced Josh Beckett in the Dodgers rotation in June and he is cruising along. Fife (3-2, 2.83) threw seven shutout innings (4 H, 1 BB, 5 K) in LA's win over the Phillies.
The Red Sox reached 50 wins Sunday, although the Orioles are staying close behind.

In the minors, former Sea Dogs starter Brandon Workman (3.41) had a rare off-day with Pawtucket: 4 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 6 K ... Will Middlebrooks (.289) hit two home runs ... Xander Bogaerts (.242) went 2-for-3.
Sea Dogs ace Anthony Ranaudo (8-2, 2.68) got the win Sunday, although he gave up nine hits and five runs in five innings (2 BB, 5 K) ... Garin Cecchini (.364) was 2-for-5 ... Michael Almanzar (.288) was 2-for-4 ... Travis Shaw (.236/.359 OBP) was 2-for-3 with two walks and his seven home run. In his last 15 games, Shaw is batting .333 (19-of-57) with four home runs.
Salem ace Henry Owens (2.91) had a wild day, walking five in five innings (3 H, 3 R, 4 K) ... Deven Marrero (.270) went 3-for-5 with his first home run ... Keury De la Cruz was 2-for-4 and, after a slow start to the season, has reached .300.
John Lackey (5-5, 2.99) goes for the Sox tonight at Fenway ... The Sea Dogs open an eight-game home stand with Keith Couch (5-2, 4.17) on the mound.
