Portland Sea Dogs starter Casey Kelly was touched for six runs and 10 hits over four-plus innings, but Portland rallied for a 10-6 win Sunday.
Kelly got ahead of several hitters but could not put them away. After needing only eight pitches in the first inning, Kelly needed 40 in the second fram as New Brtiain recorded six straight hits in a five-run inning.
His final line: 4 IP, 10 H, 6 R, 0 BB, 1 K
Tommy Hottovy (3-0, 3.98) pitched three hitless innings (1 BB, 2 K). He's looking ready for Pawtucket.
Down 6-2, Portland scored six runs in the seventh inning on home runs by Nate Spears, Anthony Rizzo and Yamaico Navarro. Luis Expositio added a two-run shot in the eighth. It was Exposito's first home since he hit one on opening day.
Outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin left in the second inning with back spasms.
