That collision between left fielder Jeremy Hermida and third baseman Adrian Beltre apparently hurt both players. Both are out of the Sox lineup today, according to reports out of Baltimore. Hermida may be out for a while. Josh Reddick has been called up from Pawtucket (no word yet on the corresponding move). Kevin Youkilis is playing third base.
In Portland, no new news on shortstop Jose Iglesias and his bruised right hand. A MRI confirmed there is no break. But he can still do little and is days away from playing. The Sea Dogs play a doubleheader today.
Here are the lineups:
BOSTON: Scutaro SS; Pedroia 2B; Ortiz 3B; Youkilis 3B; Martinez 1B; Drew RF; Varitek C; Reddick CF; Hall LF (Lester P)
PORTLAND (first game): Spears 2B; Lin CF; Chang 3B; Exposito C; Rizzo 1B; Navarro SS; Khoury DH; Chiang LF; Sheely RF (Kelly P)
I'll be back when Kelly is done pitching.
