According to the few websites, the Boston Red Sox are looking to draft Louisiana State right-handed pitcher Anthony Ranaudo, a 6-7, 230-pound power pitcher who once was considered the best college pitcher in the draft. But Ranaudo had elbow trouble at the start of the college season and his stock has dropped.
Will the Sox gamble?
Well, Boston is used to gambling with pitchers, which is why Daisuke Matsuzaka is in a Red Sox uniform, and on the mound tonight in Cleveland. With Boston losing a John Lackey start on Sunday, a Dice-K win would be a nice pick-me-up for the Red Sox.
The AL East: Rays 37-20; Yankees 35-22 (2 back); Sox and Jays both 33-25 (4.5 back)

On Sunday, Pawtucket got two hits apiece from Daniel Nava (.287), Dusty Brown (.246) and Lars Anderson (.241). Nava hit his 8th home run.
Salem catcher/DH Ryan Lavarnway (.291) keeps looking like a candidate for promotion, going 2-for-4 with his 13th home run ... outfielder Pete Hissey (.263) went 3-for-4 ... newly promoted reliever Cesar Cabral, who had a 0.29 ERA in Greenville, got off to a good start with Salem, pitching two perfect innings (4 K) ... Another lefty reliever, Kyle Fernandez (1.59) pitched three innings (1 H, 2 K).
