Jerad Head hit two solo home runs to lead the Akron Aeros past the Portland Sea Dogs 3-2 Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.
Sea Dogs starter Kyle Weiland pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits and three walks. he struck out seven. Weiland left with the score tied 1-1. But Head got his home runs of the Sea Dogs bullpen.
Portland's Ryan Khoury went 2-for-4 with a RBI. Nate Spears had a sacrifice fly.
The Sea Dogs(36-32) leave Monday on a six-game road trip. They return to Hadlock Field next Monday. June 28.
