Portland Sea Dogs starter Kyle Weiland is finished after five-plus innings of work. Weiland allowed four runs on four hits, two walks and a hit-batter. He struck out six. Weiland faced one batter in the sixth and walked him. That runner scored.
After striking out the side in the first inning, Weiland allowed a two-run double in the second, and a solo home run to Brad Coon in the third. Weiland threw 93 pitches, 53 for strikes.
The Sea Dogs lead Harrisburg 6-4. Portland scored four runs in the fifth on three consecutive RBI doubles by Luis Exposito, Anthony Rizzo and Yamaico Navarro, and Ryan Khoury's RBI single. Harrisburg starter John Lannan, down from the majors to right himself, has allowed 10 hits.
