Jason Marquis is done with his rehab outing in Portland, allowing three runs on five hits, one walk and a wild pitch over 3 1/3 innings. He retired 12 of the last 14 batters he faced. Chih-Hsien Chiang doubled and Ryan Lavarnway singled off him.
Portland and Harrisburg are tied 3-3 after five innings.
In Red Sox news, Boston.com is reporting that Michael Bowden is being sent down to Triple-A to make room for Josh Beckett.
Bowden and Scott Atchison are the only relievers who have options available to the minors.
In his three major league appearances this pas week, Bowden pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and no runs. He struck out two.
He will be back.
