The blog is going on vacation (I'm not going anywhere, but the laptop will stay closed).

Currently, the Red Sox are 55-43, seven games behind the Yankees, four behind the Rays. And no major trades have been made.

We'll see what a difference a week makes.

He wisely moved to Maine in 1994 and now writes about the Portland Sea Dogs and Boston Red Sox — when he's not coaching Little League baseball.

He is married to Nancy, and the couple recently completed their lineup card with the birth of their ninth child.
