NEW FACES

Sarah Parisien has joined the staff of St. Lawrence Arts as the new theater manager. Parisien also teaches costume design, playwriting and poetry performance at Waynflete School in Portland.

Hildie Lipson, a longtime nonprofit executive, was hired as chief operating officer for The Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting. Lipson, of Wayne, spent 16 years working at MaineShare, which distributes donations to 40 groups statewide through payroll giving and direct contributions.

Kevin O’Hara was hired as senior information specialist at the New England office of Burns & McDonnell. O’Hara joins the firm’s business and technology services group. Previously, he was the owner of TimePiece Project Solutions, LLC, where he provided consulting and system services primarily to the construction industry.

Ron Eugley, of Auburn, joined the technical customer support team at Main Oxy, a supplier of industrial & specialty gases, welding and safety supplies. Eugley has more than 40 years of industry experience.

Seven attorneys from the law firm of Skelton, Taintor & Abbott made the 2014 Best Lawyers in America list. Baker Newman Noyes was again named one of the nation’s top 200 accounting firms by INSIDE Public Accounting for 2013. The firm serves a variety of clients, with a special focus on health care, banking and financial services, not-for-profits, public sector entities, privately held and family-owned businesses, and high net worth individuals.

Baker Newman Noyes has earned the top distinction each year since the rankings began in 2010.

Four attorneys from Thompson & Bowie, LLP were recognized as 2013 New England Super Lawyers. They are James Bowie for professional liability defense, insurance coverage and alternative dispute resolution; Leonard Langer for transportation/maritime and civil litigation defense; Mark Franco for personal injury defense, professional liability defense and employment litigation defense; and Robert Hatch for professional liability defense, civil litigation defense and alternative dispute resolution.

The Maine Cancer Foundation was honored with a prestigious 2013 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations. The award was based on the large number of positive reviews the Maine Cancer Foundation received.

Michael Lemay, a customer service representative for Cross Insurance, was named the 2013 Outstanding CSR of the Year by The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. Lemay also went on to win the regional award for New England. He has worked for Cross Insurance as a customer service representative in the agency’s Portland office for more than 11 years.

George Kotuby was honored by Maine Sen. Angus King for his 60 years of service as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Kotuby sat on the board of directors of the Brunswick Chapter – now the Mid Coast Chapter – for six years, and later returned to serve on the new organization’s board.

Fisher and Phillips LLP, recently announced that five attorneys in its New England office are listed in the 2013 edition of New England Super Lawyers. The attorneys who made the list are Jonathan Shapiro, managing partner in the New England office; and partners Melinda Caterine, Eric Uhl and Philip Moss, of counsel, who were recognized for their work in labor and employment law. BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Rusty Atwood was elected as chair of the board of directors for The Maine Children’s Alliance. Atwood, of Gorham, is a consultant to Deerfield Associates, an executive search firm in Massachusetts that focuses on senior-level independent school and higher-education advancement positions. He is a member of Portland Rotary Club, a past president of the Maine Basketball Coaches Association and a member of the board of directors of the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.
