NEW FACES

Alfred Frawley was hired at Eaton Peabody as an intellectual property attorney in the firm’s business practice.

Frawley has over 30 years of experience in a wide range of legal fields. His concentration is in privacy law, intellectual property and technology law.

A resident of North Yarmouth, Frawley is a founder, board member and past president of the Foundation for Faces of Children, which supports research and education at Children’s Hospital in Boston. He also serves as board president of the Regional Transportation Program in Portland.

Kathleen Bain, M.D., joined the medical staff at Central Maine Medical Center and is practicing with Central Maine Pediatrics in Lewiston.

Prior to joining the greater Lewiston-Auburn medical community, Bain worked as public health physician with the Cincinnati Health Department in a busy urban practice and school based health center.

Mirissa Urbano was hired at Dawson, Smith, Purvis, & Basset after completing a tax internship earlier in the year.

Urbano recently graduated from the University of Southern Maine with degree in business administration in accounting.

Martin’s Point Health Care has contracted with David Brenerman for state and municipal government affairs consulting services.

Brenerman recently retired from Unum after a 29-year career, during which he held several government relations positions. Most recently, he served as vice president of government affairs.

Rusty Bryan joined Day’s Jewelers in South Portland.

Bryan comes to Day’s with over 15 years of jewelry experience in the Portland area. She is a certified diamontologist and a guild gemologist.

Amie Hutchison was hired as executive director of P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center.

Hutchison, of Thomaston, spent the past six years at Youthlinks in Rockland as its program director, where she was responsible for all aspects of the operation of the nonprofit organization.

Charles Vrtis joined Pierce Atwood LLP as director of human resources.

Prior to joining the firm, he served as director of human resources and administration for the professional services firm, Global Novations LLC.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

Nicole Harman, a registered nurse at Central Maine Medical Center, was honored with its DAISY Award.

Harman has worked on CMMC’s Oncology Nursing Unit since February 2010. She is a graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta, and is certified in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration.

Six attorneys from Perkins Thompson, P.A., were named in the 2013 New England Super Lawyers and Rising Stars directories.

Listed as Super Lawyers are Philip Hunt for estate planning and probate; J. Gordon Scannell Jr. for real estate; Fred Bopp III for bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights; and David McConnell for business litigation. Listed as Rising Stars are Dawn Harmon for civil litigation defense and Sara Moppin for banking.

Nancy Marshall Communications was recently honored with two Golden Arrow Awards from the Maine Public Relations Council.

The firm received a golden award for technology for its design and production of a responsive, multi-channel media room for the Maine Office of Tourism.

The firm also received a silver award for their public relations and marketing campaign for the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers Christmas Program.

Dr. Muriel Poulin, a volunteer with HomeHealth Visiting Nurses, was recognized with the 2013 Home Care Volunteer of the Year Award.

Poulin was recognized for more than 20 years of advocacy and commitment to advance the mission of home health and hospice care. She is a former member of the board of directors for HomeHealth Visiting Nurses, and currently serves as the volunteer manager of the Sanford bookstore, Books Revisited.

U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers® have released the 2014 Best Lawyers in America list, and Bryan Dench, an attorney with Skelton, Taintor & Abbott, was named “Lawyer of the Year” for Portland for tax law.

Dench also is recognized on the Best Lawyers list for the 15th time.
