NEW FACES

• Michael Chaney was named executive director of the Frances Perkins Center, effective April 1.

Chaney of Alna has served as executive director of the Yarmouth Historical Society.

• Attorneys Brin Richer and Scott Edmunds joined Bergen & Parkinson, LLC.

Edmunds focuses his practice on real estate, business and commercial law transactions. He is a graduate of Colby College and the University of Maine Law School.

Richer joined the firm’s estate planning team and will focus her practice in estate planning and administration.

• Saint Andre Home recently hired Diane Skog as director of marketing and development and Sarah MacLaughlin as adoption manager.

Skog has more than 30 years of nonprofit management and marketing experience. She previously held positions at the Finance Authority of Maine as a project leader of the Harold Alfond College Challenge and at MaineHealth as the director of both the Raising Readers and from the First Tooth Programs. Skog lives in Saco.

MacLaughlin is a freelance author and consultant on the topic of parenting and was previously the resource coordinator at the Opportunity Alliance. She’s a regular guest on television programs such as WCSH6’s “207,” speaking about various topics related to parenting and child behavior. She lives in Windham.

• Sallie MacLeod has joined Seacoast Hand Therapy in South Portland.

MacLeod holds a post-graduate certificate in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation from Drexel University. She has many years of experience working with upper extremity trauma, major shoulder injuries, arthritis, as well as tendon and nerve repairs.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

• Jan Robinson Interiors in Portland was awarded “Best of Houzz” by Houzz, the leading platform for home remodeling and design. The interior design company is run out of its home furnishings showroom, EcoHome Studio, and demonstrates a strong eco-friendly conscience.

The Best of Houzz award is given in two categories, customer satisfaction and design.

• Eben Albert-Knopp and Phil Gleason, lawyers at Bernstein Shur, were recently honored by the firm for their commitment to pro bono and community service.

Albert-Knopp, a member of the firm’s business law practice group and litigation group, received the Sumner T. Bernstein Pro Bono Award. He has provided legal representation to individuals and families seeking asylum.

Gleason, a shareholder and member of the firm’s business law, energy law and real estate practice groups, received the Barnett I. Shur Civic Award for his volunteerism, including his recent work with Bangor Theological Seminary. He is the chairman of the seminary’s board and is leading its transition to a center that will operate as a nonprofit charitable organization to support clergy and laity.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

• Alex Uhll, a Realtor with Jaret & Cohn Real Estate in Camden, joined the board of directors for New Hope for Women. Uhll lives in Lincolnville.

• William Leete of Leete & Lemieux, P.A., was named president of the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland.

Dana Twombly has joined the board and will sit on its development committee.

CERTIFICATIONS

• Wesley P. Fairfield, M.D., a specialist in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, has earned an Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

A member of the Central Maine Medical Center for more than a decade, Fairfield was the region’s first board-certified endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism specialist. He practices at Central Maine Endocrinology and Diabetes Center in Lewiston.
