NEW FACES

Kristofer Koerber joined Broadreach Family & Community Services as director of its Youthlinks Program. Koerber, of Owls Head, is a volunteer firefighter and has worked as a sternman aboard the F/V Three Sons out of South Thomaston.

Aric Cloutier of Augusta was hired as a lead analyst in the marketing department at Central Maine Power Co. He was previously a senior credit analyst at Bank of America.

Paula Watson joined Bendett & McHugh P.C. as co-managing counsel of its Portland office. Watson previously worked for TD Bank N.A. and was a vice president and senior counsel.

Robin Rilette joined Maine Public Broadcasting Network as its new music director and host of MPBN’s morning classical music program. Rilette was previously the morning classical host at Northwest Public Radio based in Pullman, Wash.

Christopher Tolford, Danielle Porter and Jeff McElroy were hired at Wellness Connection of Maine.

Tolford, a certified public accountant, was hired as a controller. Most recently he was a supervisor with Macpage, an accounting firm with offices in South Portland, Augusta and Framingham, Mass. He lives in Cumberland and is an active volunteer with PROPEL and the Maine Red Claws Young Leader Program.

Porter was hired as director of human resources. Porter has five years of experience in the human resources field, most recently working as the manager of marketing and human resources at a biochemistry firm in Boston.

McElroy, of North Yarmouth, was named director of production operations. He brings extensive agricultural and horticultural experience as the former vice president of Backyard Farms in Madison.

PROMOTIONS

Dr. Samantha Langley-Turnbaugh of Gorham was named the University of Southern Maine’s associate provost for graduate studies and research, scholarship and creative activity.

Langley-Turnbaugh joined USM in 1996 as a faculty member in environmental science. She has served as associate vice president for research, scholarship and creative activity since 2009, and during the past year served as interim dean of graduate studies.

Jonica Poole of Sabattus was promoted to manager of finance and administration for H.E. Callahan Construction Co. Poole joined H.E. Callahan as bookkeeper and has since taken on other financial, insurance and human resources duties. She has 28 years of experience in insurance and bookkeeping.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

Adam Holmes of PDT Architects in Portland won third-place honors at the AIA New Hampshire Emerging Professionals Design Competition.

Kate Evans, a clinician for Woodfords Family Services in its new home and community treatment program, was recognized with a directors’ award for her passion, energy and leadership. She has been with Woodfords for one year.

Dr. Syed Kazmi of New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland was chosen for inclusion in Down East Magazine’s “Maine TopDocs Physician Survey 2014” as the top physician in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Kazmi has been a member of the rehabilitation hospital staff since 1996. He is the medical director for the stroke and neuroscience programs, and a past president of the medical staff. He is also on the medical staff at Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital.

CERTIFICATIONS

Maine School Administration District 55 announced that four staff members were certified through National Teacher Board Certification. They are: Ashley Bryant, Kelley Goodfield and Jaci Ritter, all teachers at Sacopee Valley Middle School; and Amy Vacchiano, a guidance counselor in the district’s three elementary schools. Holly Johnson, principal of South Hiram Elementary School, has completed her recertification.
