NEW FACES

• The Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram has hired several people:

Yoon Byun is the new photo editor. He was most recently an award-winning photojournalist at The Boston Globe and has worked for several other news organizations, including the Hartford Courant and the Concord Monitor.

Chelsea Conaboy is the new features editor. She was a health reporter with The Boston Globe and previously worked for The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Concord Monitor.

Whit Richardson joins the staff as a business reporter. He was previously the business editor for the Bangor Daily News, managing editor of Security Director News, producer of “Mainebiz Sunday” on WCSH and WLBZ, and online editor and staff writer for Mainebiz.

Mary-Theresa Tringale joins the staff as marketing manager. She previously worked at Men’s Journal magazine, where she was senior integrated marketing manager, and held various positions at Women’s Day magazine.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

• Daniel Bookham, a business insurance specialist and director of business development at Allen Insurance, was elected chairman of the board of trustees for the LifeFlight Foundation.

Bookham joined the board in 2012 and has provided guidance around issues relating to fundraising, communications and nonprofit management.

• Emily Semenchuk of Hollis was elected president and treasurer of Crossroads’ Board of Directors. Tim Sample of Portland was elected vice president of the board.

Four new members also joined the board: Cheryl Goulet of Saco; Tracy Jamison of Scarborough; Bryce Libby of Lewiston; and Leah Sciaba of West Newton, Mass.

• The Maine Senate recently confirmed Gov. Paul LePage’s six nominees (two reappointments and four new members) to the Finance Authority of Maine’s board of directors. The six board members are: Jonathan Block, Reis Hagerman, James Howard, Gregory Miller, Rosaire Pelletier and James Violette Jr.

Block, of Portland, is a tax attorney and partner with the law firm of Pierce Atwood LLP.

Hagerman, of Standish, is dean of campus life at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.

Howard, of Topsham, is president and chief executive officer of Priority Real Estate Group and is active in his community.

Miller, of Old Town, is currently working in student affairs at Eastern Maine Community College.

Pelletier, of Madawaska, is currently senior forest products adviser with the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development. He has more than 40 years of experience in financial management of the pulp and paper industry. He is being reappointed to the FAME board after completing his first term.

Violette, of Waterville, is a senior loan officer in the commercial division at TD Bank N.A. He has more than 30 years of banking experience.

• Daniel Junius was elected to board of directors for Idexx Laboratories Inc.

Junius has served as president and chief executive officer of ImmunoGen Inc., a biotechnology company that develops targeted anti-cancer therapeutics, since 2009.

• Terri DeCoster was appointed as chairwoman of the board of directors of the Kids First Center.

She has served on the board since 1998 and is a longtime facilitator of the Kids First program for stepparents.

GENERAL

• Professional Disability Associates LLC, a growing consulting company, has moved its headquarters to One Monument Square in Portland.

The move more than triples the company’s office space. The new space was designed to create a more collaborative and inviting environment for employees and clients.
