On March 2, the Monument Square book store will host a day-long cash mob, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. People who want to support the store are asked to come in then and buy books or gift certificates.
Beginning at 7 p.m. March 3 at SPACE Gallery on Congress Street, Maine writers Richard Russo and Monica Wood will discuss the art of memoir writing in a conversation hosted by Moira Driscoll. That will be followed by a fiction discussion with Ron Currie Jr. and Bill Roorbach, moderated by Brock Clark.
Tickets cost $10, $15 and $20, through brownpapertickets.com, with the proceeds going to Longfellow Books.
Finally, the literary alliance is accepting donations on behalf of Longfellow Books through March 15. In the hours after the initiative was announced Thursday, donations were coming in, said alliance executive director Joshua Bodwell.
