Mexico Breakfast Briefing, 8 to 9:30 a.m., presented by Maine International Trade Center and featuring Daniel Hernandez, Mexico’s consul general in Boston; Sal Savatteri, a legal expert on Mexico; and representatives from the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and ProMexico in preparation for a state trade mission to Mexico and Colombia from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2. Coming up

First-time homebuyer seminars, sponsored by Coastal Enterprises Inc., will be held Sept. 7 and 14 at Money Management International, South Portland, and Sept. 10, 12, 17 and 19 at Gardiner High School. Preregistration is required and the nonrefundable fee is $30 per person or $50 per couple. The deadlines to register are Aug. 30 for the South Portland seminar and Sept. 3 for the Gardiner sessions.

Junior Achievement of Maine is seeking volunteers for this year’s programs, which are offered to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Each year, more than 330 business professionals, parents and retirees help students learn about work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
