El Rodeo Restaurant will take over the former Outback Steakhouse location on Western Avenue in South Portland as the chain makes its first move into Maine.
Outback Steakhouse closed its only Maine location in July. El Rodeo will bring its Mexican-themed restaurant to the location at 147 Western Ave., according to CBRE/The Boulos Co., which represented the landlord.
El Rodeo is expected to open this spring, said CBRE/The Boulos Co.
