NEW FACES

• Carolyn Wyman was hired as program manager of youth development services at Day One in South Portland. Wyman previously worked in the women’s unit at the Maine Correctional Center.

• Rachel Myers Healy joined ACLU of Maine as director of communications and public education. Healy worked there as field organizer from 2005 to 2007, then took a position in the communications department at the ACLU nationwide headquarters in New York.

ACLU of Maine also added two staffers to its legislative team. Jill Barkley was named public policy advocate. She joined the organization as its marriage project coordinator in April. Oamshri Amarasingham, a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law, will serve as public policy counsel. Amarasingham formerly served as a legal intern at the ACLU of Maine.

• Rebecca Webber joined Skelton, Taintor & Abbott as a shareholder. Webber is an accomplished employment lawyer and litigator with two decades of experience. She represents individuals, businesses and government agencies in employment law counseling, compliance, training and civil litigation. Webber previously worked at another Maine law firm.

• Linda Veino, of People’s United Bank, was promoted to assistant vice president and customer service manager at the York branch of People’s United Bank. Veino was hired in 2002 and held positions such as assistant manager, branch service manager and customer service manager.

• Angela Wallingford Bovill was named president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Social Services of New England. Bovill joined the organization in 2008 as chief financial officer. She was named chief operating officer in 2011. Prior to 2008, she was general manager for digital services at IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook.

• Dawn Self-Cooper was promoted to CareerCenter manager at the York County CareerCenter in Springvale. Self-Cooper has more than 20 years of experience working for the Department of Labor.

• Lucus Ritchie and Daniel Stevens were named partners of Pierce Atwood LLP. Ritchie, of Portland, is a member of its litigation practice. Stevens, of East Winthrop, joined the firm in 1988 as an associate and was later named a counsel.

• Andrew Pease was promoted to account manager in commercial lending at TD Bank in Portland. Pease joined TD Bank in 2010 and most recently served as a credit analyst in commercial credit management. He previously worked in real estate development and management.

• The Susan L. Curtis Charitable Foundation/Camp Susan Curtis named the following individuals to serve on its board of trustees:

Parke Burmeister, Esq., assistant vice president and marketing manager for Bangor Savings Bank; Bob Dunfey, executive director of ITNPortland; and Chris Miles, chief executive officer of Alliance Press in Brunswick.

• The Human Resources Association of Southern Maine elected its board of directors.

Lisa Noonan, who was elected president. Noonan, of Portland, is the chief operations officer at The Park Danforth, a senior residential and services organization in Portland.

Catharine MacLaren was elected president elect. MacLaren is the chief operating officer of Workforce Performance Solutions in Portland.

Michele Whidden was elected treasurer. Whidden is the human resources manager for Parker Hannifin’s Nichols Portland Division.

Michelle Pritchard was elected secretary. Pritchard is an account manager with the Holden Agency Employee Benefits Solutions.

Gayle Brazeau, dean of the University of New England College of Pharmacy, was elected to serve as secretary of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Council of Deans. Brazeau has served as dean at the University of New England since September 2010.

GENERAL

• Ellen Kornetsky, LCSW, has opened a counseling practice, specializing in adoption and other family related issues.

Kornetsky, a 20-year veteran in the field of adoption and child welfare, opened her own practice after the closing of Casey Family Services in Portland, where she worked with children and families for the past 11 years.

The practice is located at 10 Forest Falls Drive in Yarmouth.

• Karen Elise Kilbride formed Integris Financial Partners, LLC, a fee-only wealth management firm which offers a focus in retirement planning and investment management.

Kilbride has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. She was most recently principal of On Course Financial Group, LLC.

Penobscot Surgical Care has joined Spectrum Medical Group — a physician-owned, multi-specialty practice with over 150 board-certified physicians.

The addition of Penobscot Surgical Care will create a new surgery division at Spectrum Medical Group. The division will be led by managing director Michael Starks, M.D., who will serve on Spectrum’s board of directors.

Maine Coast Memorial Hospital was recently awarded a three-year term of accreditation in ultrasound as the result of a review by the American College of Radiology.
