NEW FACES

• Kara Aleixo Johnson has been appointed as the new director of development for Mid Coast Health Services of Brunswick. As a lawyer and business owner with an extensive professional background, Johnson brings more than 20 years of experience in development and business management to the team. She will lead the planning, implementation and administration of all development activities including fundraising appeals, endowment campaigns, gift planning, grateful patient giving and donor appreciation events.

• Peter Lacy has been hired as director of compliance and audit with Port Credit Union. Lacy is a recent graduate of the University of Maine School of Law and previously worked at Maine Revenue Services.

• At Head to Toe Physical Therapy:

Christine Mecham was hired as the public relations coordinator for the practice. Mecham brings more than 13 years of marketing experience in the financial and construction industries to the position. She will oversee all marketing and community related functions for the business.

Ali Farrow joined the practice for the summer to complete her first clinical rotation. She is scheduled to graduate from Franklin Pierce University in 2014 with a doctorate of physical therapy degree.

• At Fluid Imaging Technologies in Yarmouth:

Barry Godowsky of Yarmouth was hired as vice president of industrial sales. Godowsky will lead the industrial markets sales team in developing new business worldwide with a focus on the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and biotechnology markets. Before joining Fluid Imaging Technologies, Godowsky worked as vice president of sales at Artel Inc. of Westbrook.

Becky Metivier of Gorham was hired as vice president of marketing. Metivier will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the marketing team, including global marketing strategy, brand management and corporate communications. Metivier previously worked as marketing manager at The Baker Co. in Sanford and as marketing manager at Contech Engineered Solutions in Scarborough.

Adam Stevens of Hollis was hired as a field technician. He will be responsible for providing technical assistance for the FlowCAM-ES, an engineered online particle analysis system for process fluids. Stevens formerly worked as project manager at Contech Engineered Solutions in Scarborough.

Stephen Bowen has been appointed director of sales, oil and gas markets. An oil field technology veteran, Bowen formerly served Nabors Industries and Well Enhancement Services in executive positions, managing a range of oil field technology products. He will be responsible for spearheading sales growth for the company’s FlowCAM fluid particle imaging instrumentation in the oil and gas industry worldwide.

• Brian C. Browne has joined Jensen Baird Gardner & Henry’s real estate practice group as a real estate attorney. Browne was previously vice president and senior underwriting counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. in New York City. He also has experience as an attorney with a small boutique real estate firm representing real estate developers and large institutional lenders.

• Michael Cobb II has joined the Cardente Real Estate Brokerage team.

Cobb previously served as the lead broker and vice president at Creative Realty Group Inc.

• Morton Soule and Clarice Hinckley recently joined RE/MAX Alliance of Westbrook as real estate agents. Soule will serve as an associate broker and Hinckley will serve as a sales associate.

• Lisa Allen has joined Bearfoot Realty of Oxford. She has experience working in the modular home business, as a partner for a building business and purchasing rental properties.

• Derek Herbert has been hired as branch manager of the University Credit Union’s Brighton Avenue and Forest Avenue branches in Portland. Hebert will be responsible for overseeing branch operations and business development efforts in the Portland community. Hebert has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently as the relationship manager at Key Bank in Windham.

• Michelle Smith and Libby VanWyhe have joined Maine Audubon.

Smith will serve as the organization’s new communications and marketing manager. She previously worked as a communications manager for Goodwill Industries of Northern New England and also serves on the board of Portland Buy Local.

VanWyhe joined Maine Audubon as environmental educator. She is responsible for the coordination of school and after-school programs and summer and vacation camps. Van Wyhe recently completed her master’s of science in environmental education from Southern Oregon University.

• Thomas Rettberg and Jill Butler have joined Dambrie Garon Real Estate Experts as the newest members of the sales team.

Rettberg will exclusively represent buyer clients. He brings 30 years of experience from IBM and an accomplished record of high sales revenue and customer service to the position.

Butler will serve as marketing administrator and is responsible for all aspects of promoting Dambrie Garon’s real estate services and client properties. The Dambrie Garon real estate team at RE/MAX by the Bay was formerly known as The Garon Group.

PROMOTIONS

• At People’s United Bank:

Cheryl Hagmann has been promoted to financial services manager, assistant vice president at the bank’s Falmouth office. Hagmann will be responsible for business development, small-business relationships and loans origination. She is also a licensed investment associate and can assist with investment and retirement needs. Hagmann has been with People’s United Bank for 10 years, previously working in the Yarmouth office.

Cassandra Mosher has been promoted to financial services manager at the bank’s Kittery office. Mosher will be responsible for the overall management of the branch, including sales, service, customer relationship building, portfolio growth and profitability. She also will work to retain and enhance small business customers.

• Robert Chatfield of Cape Elizabeth has been promoted to vice president of finance at Fluid Imaging Technologies in Yarmouth. Chatfield, who formerly served as the company’s chief financial officer, will be responsible for the overall economic strategy in addition to managing the financial condition as treasurer and controller.

• Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution recently promoted four team members: Ginger Grantham of Dayton, Eric Doyon of Biddeford, Bryan Christoforo of Saco and Patrick DeCourcey of Cumberland.

• Cathy Philbrick has been promoted to branch manager of the University Credit Union’s Rangeley Road and Memorial Union branches on the University of Maine campus in Orono. In her new role, Philbrick will oversee branch operations and business development for the two Orono branches. She has been in the financial industry for over 25 years.

• Peter Fendler, president of Norton Financial Services of Cumberland, was named to Commonwealth Financial Network’s Retirement Advisor Council, an exclusive 22-member group. The council is made up of seasoned advisers who specialize in and have a deep working knowledge of qualified retirement plans.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

• Kathleen Egan of South Portland has joined the board of directors at Mad Horse Theatre Company. She is the development coordinator for Portland Trails. Egan has a bachelor’s degree in human studies from Brown University and a bachelor’s degree in musicology from the University of Southern Maine.

• The New Markets Tax Credit Coalition of Washington, D.C., has appointed CEI Capital Management CEO Charlie Spies to its board of directors. Spies will also serve on the coalition’s executive committee. He brings a particular focus on rural economic development to the board.

• Four people joined the board of directors for the Portland Community Health Center.

Nancy Kelleher, Ainsley Wallace, Victoria Foley and Bruce Wagner will serve three-year terms.

AWARDS & ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

• Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice of Lewiston presented the Robert D. Turcotte Award to three individuals for their outstanding contributions to promote health care at its spring Volunteer Recognition events in Auburn, Farmington and Bridgton. The 2013 award recipients are Cindy Boyd of Mechanic Falls, a volunteer since November 2011; Dan Campbell of Auburn, who began his involvement with the HH 5K & Remembrance Walk in 2010; and Moe Morin of Lewiston, who began with the agency in October 2006 as a visiting volunteer for home care patients.
