NEW FACES

The Very Rev. Alexander Henderson Webb has been named academic dean of the Logos House of Theological Studies of Ellsworth-Portland.

Dr. Webb brings a strong academic background to the position. He has a doctor of ministry degree in marriage and family counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a master of divinity degree from the General Theological Seminary in New York and a bachelor of arts degree from Amherst College.

Webb has been a priest for more than 35 years and has served numerous parishes in the Anglican Church. He is currently a dean in the Diocese of the Northeast of the Anglican Church in America, chairman of the diocese’s Board of Examining Chaplains, and rector of St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Amherst, N.H.

He also serves on the executive council of the Anglican Church in America.

Webb’s primary near-term objectives will be a review of the academic programs offered by the Logos House seminary, expansion of the faculty and care of the seminary’s wide range of national and international students.

The seminary’s board of trustees also welcomed two new members, Dr. Richard Legault and Peter Thomas.

Kathleen Pinard joined the Maine Women’s Fund staff in Portland as a development coordinator.

More recently, Pinard supported the development efforts of LightHawk, a nonprofit that advances conservation efforts in North America and Central America through the perspective of flight.

She currently serves on the board of directors of City Theater in Biddeford, where she is often seen working backstage and performing onstage. Pinard also teaches baking and culinary arts courses for Old Orchard Beach-Saco Adult Education.

• Jo-Ann Neal joined Allen Insurance and Financial as an employee benefits account manager in the company’s Camden office. Neal brings 10 years of human resources and benefit administration experience to the position.

Winxnet, a Portland-based IT solutions provider, announced four new hires recently. Kristin Gooch joins Winxnet as a marketing director with nearly 20 years of experience in technology and services solutions development, consulting and marketing. John Fitzpatrick joins as a network support specialist with more than 14 years of professional technology experience. Shannon Fournier joins Winxnet as a project coordinator with more than 18 years of professional telecommunications and information technology project management experience. And Cormac Frost joins as an application developer.

Jenna Mehnert, MSW, has been hired as executive director of the Maine Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the statewide advocacy organization for people affected by mental illness. Mehnert brings a diverse background as an advocate, policymaker, administrator, service provider and network builder to the position. 

Mehnert previously served as the executive director of the New England Institute of Addiction Studies and spent six years leading the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. She was named the NASW Chapter Executive Director of the Year in 2011.

Mehnert has extensive policy and operational experience, including her service as executive policy specialist with Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell. She also has worked for the offices of the mayor in both New York City and Washington, D.C.; as director of program management and development in the New York City Office of the Criminal Justice Coordinator; and as chief of staff for the Washington, D.C., Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice. Mehnert began her career in direct-service settings, including as a child welfare worker in Lewiston/Auburn and rape crisis hotline supervisor in Portland. 

For the past 10 years, Mehnert has taught graduate and undergraduate social policy, juvenile justice and women’s studies courses. She currently serves as an adjunct Gender Studies professor at the University of Maine and as an elected school board member. 

Robin G. Goodwin has been named chief operating officer for Montalvo Corp., a Gorham-based international specialist in industrial web control systems.

Goodwin’s responsibility will include managing day-to-day operations; overseeing sales, product development, human resources and financial management; supervising development of new designs and products; and continuing to evolve Montalvo’s strategic plan and aligning the company to accomplish the plan.

Managers of Montalvo Corp.’s offices in Shanghai, China, and in Europe will report to Goodwin.           

Adam L. Duquette, D.O., has been appointed to the Central Maine Medical Center medical staff. He is practicing with Family Health Care Associates in Auburn.

A graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn and the University of Maine in Orono, Duquette earned his medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, where he was consistently in the top 10 percent of his class and a member of the National Osteopathic Academic Honor Society.

Duquette completed his residency training at the Central Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program.

He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation.

He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, Maine Medical Association, Maine Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Matthew Thornton has joined the Air-Gas Handling Division of Clyde Bergemann Power Group Americas, Inc., of Atlanta, Ga., as a manager of business development.

In this newly created position, Thornton will focus on driving business growth with new customers as well as building on existing relationships. Reporting to President Mike Sellinger, Thornton will lead the division’s sales department in strategically pursuing opportunities in key markets globally.  

Thornton brings more than 20 years of experience in industrial product sales, business development and sales management to the job. His expertise includes growing sales through targeted business-to-business activities in international markets.

Thornton previously worked for Zajac LLC of Saco as an engineering and process system integrator, where he was general manager. He also was managing director with Tuchenhagen North America, an equipment manufacturer serving the energy and other industries.

Niels Zellers has been hired as an investment officer for CEI Capital Management, LLC of Portland, a leading investor of New Market Tax Credits.

Zellers will be responsible for evaluating potential investments of New Markets Tax Credits and directing their deployment.

He returns to CEI Capital Management, where he was previously a summer associate, after operating Confluence Capital, an investment consulting firm, in Portland, Ore., and most recently after serving as a senior strategy analyst with Fidelity Investments in Boston.

Zellers holds both an M.B.A. and M.S. in sustainable systems from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in mathematical computer science from Lewis & Clark College.

Paul Salacain has joined the RE/MAX Realty One team of York.

Salacain brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate business management and customer service to the position. 

He is a longtime resident of York and has participated on several town committees, including as a Planning Board alternate. 

Salacain is active with the board of directors of the York Community Service Association and is a member and past president of York Rotary Club.

PROMOTIONS

Julie Marquis has been promoted to the position of executive vice president and chief operations officer for Five County Credit Union.

Marquis will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Five County and will take a greater responsibility in the strategic planning and implementation of projects involving the organization.

Marquis has been with FCCU since 1993, having held various positions in branch operations and consumer and commercial lending.

She is a graduate of the CUES School of Business Lending, CUNA Management School, Ritz Carlton Leadership Institute and is currently attending the Wharton School of Business.

Didier Hakizimana has been promoted to senior accounting manager for CEI Capital Management, LLC of Portland, a leading investor of New Market Tax Credits. Hakizimana previously served as an accounting specialist.

He has nearly 10 years of accounting experience, is facile with a wide variety of technical and internationally recognized reporting formats, and is a certified public accountant. He earned a masters degree in management from the University of Turin in Italy and also holds a B.S. in accounting from the National University of Rwanda.

Tonya Beckwith has been promoted to financial services manager in the Scarborough office of People’s United Bank.

Beckwith will be responsible for community development, consumer and business lending, and managing daily operations at the branch on Route 1, which serves customers in Scarborough and surrounding communities.
