The ups and downs of the Canadian loonie

For much of 2011 and 2012, the Canadian dollar had more buying power than the U.S. dollar. But the loonie’s value has been declining since January 2013, with the steepest drop occurring over the past five months. Today, one Canadian dollar buys about 90 cents in U.S. currency.
