Dinners in Ogunquit and Portland

MARK GAIER AND CLARK FRASIER have posted on the website for Arrows, their restaurant in Ogunquit, their intention to hold a special dinner Oct. 7 during which they will re-create the dishes they competed with on “Top Chef Masters.” The six-course dinner will be $79, or $109 with wine. For more information, go to arrowsrestaurant.com.

GAIER AND FRASIER are the first Maine chefs to be tapped for “Top Chef Masters,” but there will be two past contestants from the show cooking in Maine on the night Season 4 premieres.

Carmen Gonzalez, who opened a restaurant at the Danforth Inn in Portland this spring, was on Season 2 of the show, before she moved to Maine from New York City. Gonzalez says she was invited to the premiere of Season 4 in Las Vegas, but instead she’ll be cooking in her own kitchen with guest chef Tony Mantuano of Spiaggia in Chicago. Gonzalez and Mantuano met on “Top Chef Masters,” and have become close friends.

The July 25 dinner with these two master chefs is sold out, but you can read about it the next day on the Press Herald’s food blog at pressherald.com/blogs/mainealacarte.
