PORTLAND — The Portland Performing Arts Festival has received a $4,000 grant from the Rines/Thompson Fund of the Maine Community Foundation. The funds will go toward the expansion of the festival’s activities scheduled to take place June 26-30.
The first festival took place last summer and included performances by classical guitarist Sharon Isbin, Maine choreographer Alison Chase’s dance company, performance art duo Eepybird, The Celebration Barn Ensemble and several others.
The 2013 festival will include 16 events at various Portland-area locations. There will be a mix of ticketed and free events including ballet, funk, tango, opera and puppetry.
Full details will be announced early in 2013. For more information, go to the festival website.
