LONDON — A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by renowned British photographer David Bailey was unveiled Sunday to mark the monarch’s 88th birthday Monday.
The black-and-white photograph, taken at Buckingham Palace in March, shows the queen smiling broadly.
Bailey described his subject as a “very strong woman” with “very kind eyes with a mischievous glint.”
The queen will celebrate her birthday publicly in June.
