Lyn Dillies puts more magic in "Magic of Christmas." The Massachusetts-based illusionist joins the Portland Symphony Orchestra for this year's "Magic of Christmas" concerts at Merrill Auditorium, 20 Myrtle St., Portland.

The musicians and their instruments are decked out in holiday finery for the Portland Symphony Orchestra’s “Magic of Christmas” series, which began Friday and continues through next weekend.

In addition to Dillies, guests include the Windham Chamber Singers, the Magic of Christmas Chorus and TV personality Bill Green, who will read Bible scriptures.
Concerts are scheduled for 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 23; and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets range from $31 to $61 through PortTix; 842-0800 or porttix.com.
