The Portland Museum of Art on Saturday opens an exhibition of Winslow Homer’s Civil War-era wood engravings drawn from its permanent collection, including “The War for the Union 1862 – A Cavalry Charge. The show features several illustrations that Homer produced for Harper’s Weekly. Also opening Saturday at the museum is an exhibition of paintings and drawings by New York-based Iraqi artist Ahmed Alsoudani.

Also opening Saturday at the museum is an exhibition of paintings and drawings by New York-based Iraqi artist Ahmed Alsoudani.
