MWA chairperson Pam Edwards said, "This show provides a unique opportunity to show work in a public space, and the venue allows us to have some larger pieces on exhibit. Our aim as a group is to encourage artists to get together to share experiences and knowledge, as well as to have several group art shows a year."
Maine Women in the Arts is a non-profit group whose goal is to promote the arts. Its membership includes both men and women, painters and poets, writers, printmakers, potters and other creative people.
The group meets the first Thursday of each month, alternating between an 8 a.m. meeting at Mast Cove Gallery, Kennebunkport, and a 7 p.m. meeting at the Perkins House, adjacent to the Graves Library, Kennebunkport.
The public is welcome to attend the meetings, which may include a demonstration, a short lecture or a critique.
